This pair of bucolic landscapes portrays two glimpses of the Italic countryside at two different times of the day is associated as well as for the subject also for the signature affixed on both canvases, De Raelietti, and for the arrangement of trees in the foreground that seem to open the bucolic scene, which continues to get lost on the horizon between forest patches and gentle hills. The tempera technique is also the same: the layers of color are superimposed with a more evident and concrete materiality, resulting in an optimal rendering of the details especially of the plant elements, where the wide range of colors is spread out through a point-like and delicate brush. The peasant environment is revealed through the small figures, human and animal, that roam near picturesque farmhouses immersed in the countryside; the contexts are similar to the point that they seem to be part of the same place but according to different perspectives and moments: One facing the mountains, the other towards the plain, the first at dusk, with the sky ignited by the last rays of the sun, the second at dawn, illuminated by a brighter and colder light. Another clue is given by the animals: brought to the stable at the end of the day and let you go out from the farmhouses in the second view. Environment, costumes, pictorial style and choice of subject make the two canvases associate to the nineteenth century.
