The Louis XV consoles are true jewels of the period furniture, appreciated for their refinement and craftsmanship with which they are made. Characterized by curved lines, elaborate carvings and abundant decoration, these furnishings represent the pinnacle of 18th century elegance. The Louis XV style, named after the French king Louis XV, flourished in the 18th century and represents the pinnacle of the Rococo movement. This historical period was characterized by a search for beauty and harmony, with particular attention to natural forms and elaborate decorations. Unlike the previous styles, characterized by straight and symmetrical lines, the Louis XV style is distinguished by the use of soft and sinuous curves that recall the shapes of nature. The surfaces of the furniture are richly decorated with carvings representing floral motifs, foliacae, shells and mythological figures.
