The profile in polychrome and finely gilded wood depicts a warrior with a helmet that adorns her head and covers part of the voluminous dark bushes: the identification with the warrior goddess Athena is suggestive. The relief is distinguished by the elegance of the somatic features: the thin nose, the arched eyebrows, the watchful eye and realistic in the representation of the pupil, the red cheeks. The L-shape lays the foundations for giving the work a precise function, such as a shelf or a bookend.
